THE BROW HAUS · PRE-SERVICE

Before Your Combo Brows

How to prepare, what to avoid, and what to bring to your combo brow appointment.

A little preparation goes a long way

Healthy, comfortable skin gives us the best starting point. Please tell us about medications, allergies, medical conditions, recent treatments, and any existing cosmetic tattoo before your appointment. Never stop or change prescribed medication to prepare for this service—ask your prescriber and let your artist know.

Your preparation timeline

Before your appointment

Send clear, makeup-free photos if you have previous brow tattooing. Tell us about your usual brow routine, skin concerns, and recent treatments so we can confirm suitability.

In the weeks before

Check with us before scheduling Botox, filler, laser, peels, microneedling, brow lamination, or other treatments near your brows. Timing depends on the treatment and your skin’s recovery.

In the days before

Leave your brows in their natural shape. Avoid waxing, threading, tinting, bleaching, or lamination close to your visit; ask your artist about timing if anything is already booked.

The day before

Keep skincare gentle, stay hydrated, and get a good night’s sleep. Plan ahead for a healing period without swimming, sauna, heavy sweating, or sun exposure.

What to avoid

Alcohol and arriving under the influence

Avoid alcohol the day before and on appointment day. Arrive sober and able to give informed consent.

Sunburn, tanning, and irritated skin

Protect the treatment area from sun exposure. We cannot work over sunburned, broken, inflamed, or infected skin.

New skincare and aggressive exfoliation

Keep your routine gentle. Avoid introducing products that could cause irritation before your appointment.

Caffeine and blood-thinner precautions

No caffeine before your appointment on appointment day, including coffee, energy drinks, and caffeinated tea. Avoid non-essential, over-the-counter aspirin or ibuprofen before your appointment unless your medical provider advises otherwise; they can increase bleeding. If you take prescribed blood thinners or medically recommended aspirin, contact your prescriber and let us know before your visit. Never stop, skip, or change prescribed medication on your own; we may need to reschedule.

Retinoids, acids, and scrubs around your brows

Ask your artist when to pause non-prescription actives near the treatment area. If a product is prescribed, speak with your prescriber before changing it.

Plucking or reshaping your brows beforehand

Leave your natural growth for the artist to assess. We will discuss and map your shape together.

On appointment day

  • Eat a normal meal and drink water before you arrive. Do not arrive fasting unless your medical provider has told you otherwise.

  • Arrive with clean skin. Bring photos of your usual brow makeup or the soft, natural result you like.

  • Bring a list of medications, supplements, allergies, and relevant skin or medical history.

  • No caffeine before your appointment on appointment day. Choose water or a caffeine-free drink instead.

  • Allow the time shown in your booking confirmation for consultation, mapping, and treatment.

What to expect at your visit

Combo brows combine hair-like strokes with shading for a fuller finish. We will review your history, assess your skin and any existing pigment, and agree on the shape and balance of strokes and shading before treatment. We may recommend another approach or postpone if treatment is not suitable.

Contact us before you come in

Reply to your appointment text before your visit if you have an active infection, a rash or broken skin in the treatment area, recent surgery, or a condition that affects healing. Tell us if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, use isotretinoin, take blood thinners or immune-suppressing medicines, have diabetes, or have a history of keloid scars. We may need to postpone or ask you to discuss suitability with your medical provider. This guide is not medical clearance.

Plan ahead for healing

Expect fresh hair strokes and shading to look stronger than the healed result. Read your combo brow aftercare guide before your visit so you can plan cleansing, products, workouts, and sun protection.
